Toyota: KINTO leads shift from owning to experiencing

Toyota's KINTO brand, born from their global shift towards enabling the future of mobility, offers a range of flexible car use options.

In Australia, KINTO provides three core services: KINTO Rent (dealership-based car rental), KINTO Share (app-based car sharing), and KINTO Flex (longer-term car subscriptions). While currently operating primarily as an alternative to traditional car rentals or ownership, KINTO also serves as a platform for prospective buyers to extensively test drive vehicles of interest. The integration of KINTO into Toyota's main website is currently light, with a dedicated page under the services navigation describing the service and linking to the KINTO website. Although the digital process for a booking test drive with Toyota is still a basic lead form submission, press releases from Kinto use copy like, 'Try out the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid', and '..take it for a test run with Kinto'. This initiative and its related messaging demonstrates Toyota's forward-thinking approach to changing consumer preferences in car usage and ownership, potentially paving the way for deeper integration with the sales funnel and a more self-service oriented test drive process in the future.
